Figeac, summer 2007 : the birthplace of Champollion becomes Le musée des Écritures du monde (Scriptures of the word museum). The new museum combines the past and the future, both in its exhibition place and by the very nature of its collections: from the birth of writing to the computer age.

The building gets a frontage and a contemporary scenography designed by the graphic designer/typographer Pierre di Sciullo.

Given its role, the museum will be stated in writing: to compensate for its length, the title of the museum becomes mÉmo, an acronym which is easily pronounced and retained. Echoing the current research, a decryption of alternate characters stands in the identity of the place.

Launch screen-printed cards, real visual objects, convey the new mÉmo with strenght: the mix of aesthetic, emotional, informative and entertaining formats. The obvious homonymy « memo » provides more ephemeral and timely communication as distributed event reminders in the form of Post-It®.
